Your team’s dynamic:
The members of the AutoVu system test team work with a wide range of specialized software and hardware components, all integrated into Genetec's comprehensive license plate recognition solution. In collaboration with the software, hardware, and digital imaging development teams, the group is responsible for validating not only the product's functionality and quality, but also for conducting performance and stability tests. This is done in an environment designed to closely simulate real-world customer use. This includes real-life scenarios with systems installed in parking lots and patrol vehicles, as well as network infrastructure tests on Cloud and on-site environments. Thus, in addition to having the opportunity to work on cutting-edge and innovative products, the work environment offers a variety of stimulating and diverse tasks.
What your day will look like:
Understand the different usage contexts (from our clients) of our systems through exceptional collaboration with stakeholders
Develop high-level test strategies to validate new hardware and software features of the system during the development phase
Conduct functional, exploratory, and creative tests on the various components of a license plate detection system (cameras, client/server applications, web services, etc.)
Document identified defects during testing and ensure proper follow-up
Assist in troubleshooting identified defects
Install and calibrate equipment to conduct performance tests in a controlled lab environment, as well as on a test vehicle under various usage conditions
Analyze and document performance test results and provide recommendations to improve the systems
Demonstrate innovation to provide more automated performance and stability statistics on the product
Propose and contribute to the development of new testing tools (software, electrical, mechanical) to simplify existing processes
Develop and maintain test automation scripts to reduce manual effort, improve continuous testing processes, and enhance responsiveness to real-time anomalies detected by our centralized dashboard
Participate in reviewing technical documentation
More about you:
Degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent experience
Motivated, enjoy working in a team, and possess strong communication skills
Autonomous, resourceful, and methodical, with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Skills in test planning and design, documentation of test scenarios, and execution of tests in a multi-layered environment
Analytical mindset and/or a keen eye for detail, along with strong troubleshooting skills.
You hold a valid driver's license
Comfortable with the physical installation of various electronic or mechanical components, as well as performing various manual tasks
Good understanding of testing methodologies
Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems, including configuration, administration, and troubleshooting
Solid understanding of networking concepts and IP protocols, with the ability to configure and troubleshoot networks
